God Moves Is Hitting the Road: Announcing Our Lighthouse Photo Tour
Big things are on the horizon at Thee Anchor & Light! This summer, “God Moves: Encounters With Jesus” is embarking on a special Lighthouse Photo Tour along the East Coast. From the shores of North Carolina to the rocky coast of Maine, we’ll be following the light, sharing stories of faith, and inviting you to travel with us—one lighthouse, one photograph, and one reminder of God’s faithfulness at a time.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 43:3 “O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.”
There is something special about a lighthouse.
Standing firmly against the wind and waves, it shines steadily through darkness, storms, and uncertainty. Long before GPS and satellite navigation, sailors depended on those faithful beacons to guide them safely home.
As I have traveled and photographed lighthouses over the years, I have often been reminded that they are beautiful earthly pictures of a much greater truth: Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. He still guides, still warns, still comforts, and still calls us safely home.
That is why I am so excited to share some very special news with you.
A New Adventure Begins
This summer, “God Moves: Encounters With Jesus” is setting out on a Lighthouse Photo Tour!
Our little book will be traveling with us as we visit some of the most iconic lighthouses and meaningful destinations along the East Coast. Along the way, we’ll be capturing photographs, sharing stories, posting devotional reflections, and documenting the journey through what I’m affectionately calling a ‘faith-filled Flat Stanley adventure.’
We’ll begin our journey at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, then travel to Bodie Island Lighthouse, make our way through Amish Country, spend time exploring the Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C., wander through the historic beauty of Mystic, Connecticut, and then continue north toward Portland Head Light, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor, Maine.
And, just like life itself, this itinerary is subject to change. Sometimes the weather shifts. Sometimes travel plans change. And sometimes the Lord opens the door to unexpected adventures. We’ll simply follow where He leads and enjoy the journey together.
Following the Light
The theme of this tour is simple:
Following the Light. Sharing His Love.
At every stop, we’ll be reminded that the purpose of a lighthouse is not to draw attention to itself. It exists to point others in the right direction. In much the same way, our lives—and even this little book—are meant to point people to Jesus.
My prayer is that every photograph we share and every devotional we write will encourage someone who may be navigating a storm, searching for direction, or simply needing the reassurance that God still moves.
Because He does.
He moves in the quiet moments and the unexpected detours. He moves in the beauty of creation and the kindness of strangers. He moves through ordinary conversations, faithful obedience, and simple reminders that we are never walking alone.

Reflection Questions

- Can you think of a time when God used an unexpected detour to lead you exactly where you needed to be?
- How might God use your own story to point someone else toward His light?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our unfailing Light and faithful Guide. Thank You for leading us through every season, every storm, and every unexpected turn in the road. As this Lighthouse Photo Tour begins, I pray that You would use every mile traveled, every picture taken, and every word shared to encourage hearts and draw people closer to You.
May this journey never be about a book or a destination, but always about the One who lights our path. Help us to follow Your leading, trust Your timing, and reflect Your love wherever You take us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Anchor Point: Lighthouses don’t exist to be admired from a distance—they exist to guide travelers safely home. May our lives do the same by pointing others to the everlasting Light of Jesus Christ.
Anchored in Him. Shining His Light.
