When He Sees, He Heals: Finding Freedom in His Presence
Luke 13:11–13 (KJV)
There is something deeply tender about this moment in Scripture.
Not loud. Not rushed. Not performed for spectacle.
Just a woman…
a burden…
and a Savior who sees.
“And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.” — Luke 13:11
Eighteen years is a long time to carry anything.
Long enough for it to feel permanent.
Long enough for others to stop noticing.
Long enough to quietly accept what was never meant to define her.
And yet—Jesus saw her.
Not just her condition… her.
He Sees What Others Miss
There are seasons in life when what we carry isn’t visible.
The weight.
The weariness.
The silent prayers whispered when no one else is listening.
We learn how to function while bent low.
We adapt. We adjust. We endure.
But heaven does not overlook what earth grows accustomed to.
When Jesus saw her, it wasn’t passive awareness—it was compassionate intention. And the same is true for you.
Nothing about your story escapes His sight.
And when He sees… He moves.
He Calls Us Forward
“And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him…” — Luke 13:12
He didn’t heal her from a distance.
He called her forward.
There is something sacred about that invitation.
To step out.
To move closer.
To respond, even when it feels vulnerable.
Because sometimes healing begins not in the outcome—but in the obedience to come when He calls.
Imagine her taking those steps—still bent, still burdened, but moving anyway.
And before anything even changed physically, Jesus spoke freedom:
“Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.”
Not “you might be.”
Not “eventually.”
But you are.
His words declare what heaven has already settled.
He Touches What He Has Declared
“And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight…” — Luke 13:13
What had been carried for eighteen years… undone in a moment.
No delay.
No process.
Just the power of His presence.
And her response?
She glorified God.
Because true healing doesn’t end in relief—it overflows into worship.
Every place He lifts us becomes a place that points back to Him.
Every burden He loosens becomes a testimony of His goodness.
Even When Others Don’t Understand
But not everyone celebrated her healing.
Scripture tells us there was indignation.
Criticism in the middle of a miracle.
Judgment in the presence of freedom.
And if we’re honest… that still happens today.
When God moves in ways that don’t fit expectations, there will always be voices that question it.
But His work has never depended on human approval.
God is not limited by what others understand.
He is glorified whether people celebrate it… or resist it.
So if He is moving in your life—even in ways others don’t fully see—keep walking in obedience.
You don’t answer to their understanding.
You respond to His calling.
Your Life Becomes the Testimony
That woman walked in bent…
…and walked out standing.
What she carried no longer defined her.
What He did became her story.
And that is the beauty of God’s healing—it never stops with us.
Your restoration becomes someone else’s hope.
Your freedom becomes someone else’s reminder.
Your story becomes a reflection of His glory.
Even when others question it… your life still declares it.
A Gentle Invitation
Maybe today, you find yourself somewhere in her story.
Still carrying something heavy.
Still waiting.
Still wondering if healing is possible.
Let this be your reminder:
He sees you.
He is calling you.
He is able to restore you.
And no amount of time, opinion, or circumstance can limit what He is able to do.
So bring it before Him again.
Step forward when He calls.
And when He moves—don’t hesitate to give Him the glory.
Anchored in Him. Shining His Light.
